Experience
My aim as a tutor is to learn how my students think so that I can help them using their preferred learning style. Problems can be solved in different ways, and I think it is important for students to learn this. I also know that students get frustrated when they feel like there is no reason for them to learn a subject, so I try to bring real-world examples for them to work with. This can help demonstrate the interconnectedness between science, math, and the natural world. I think learning should be invigorating, not a chore, and I try to pass that enthusiasm on. I earned my B.S. in Physics at the University of Michigan, and went on to receive my master's degree in physics from the University of Denver. While I earned my graduate degree, I served as a teaching assistant for two years, so I have experience teaching college-level students. I can tutor a wide age range of students in nearly any math or science discipline, particularly high school-level math like algebra and calculus. I can also work with my tutoring students on quantum theory, physics, and Newtonian mechanics. In my spare time, I enjoy staying fit by running and cycling.
